Understanding Candle Preferences

Choosing a candle is personal. Scent preferences vary from person to person—what feels bold and expressive to one person may feel soft or subtle to another. At Set Forth NY, we create a range of fragrance profiles designed for different tastes, spaces, and moments. From rich and layered to fresh and understated, each candle is created with its own distinct character.

Carefully Selected Fragrance Oils
We carefully select fragrance oils from established fragrance suppliers to create the individual scent profile of each Set Forth candle. Our candles are made with phthalate-free fragrance oils. The fragrance oils we use are also designated vegan-friendly or vegan and cruelty-free by their respective fragrance suppliers.
Soy Wax Blend
Our candles are made with a soy wax blend formulated for container candles. We selected this wax blend for our candle format and continue to evaluate each finished candle through our own making and burn-testing process.
Thoughtfully Chosen Components
Each component is selected with attention to function, compatibility, and the finished candle experience. Our candles are made with lead-free, cotton-braid zinc-core wicks and phthalate-free fragrance oils. Every candle is assembled as a complete system—the wax, fragrance, wick, vessel, and process all work together to create the finished product.

We believe thoughtful choices begin with being clear about the materials we use and avoiding promises that go beyond what those materials can support.
Our candles are poured in metal tins that may be recyclable where accepted by local recycling programs. Shipping materials are selected with care for protection, presentation, and practicality.
As our materials and processes evolve, we continue to look for practical ways to make thoughtful choices while maintaining the quality and character of Set Forth NY candles.

Each Set Forth candle is hand-poured and finished in small batches in New York.
From measuring and pouring the wax to finishing and preparing each candle for packaging, our process is hands-on and detail-focused.
Even our labels are printed and cut in-house, allowing us to stay closely involved in the finished presentation of every candle.
Whether we are making a single candle or preparing a larger order, the same attention to craftsmanship and detail remains part of the process.
